RAV Volunteering

As a RAV volunteer, you are in the driver's seat and we appreciate the opportunity to design a program that really accomplishes your volunteer goals.

We believe that being a volunteer at a Read Aloud Virginia school will be one of the most rewarding experiences of your life. That's right, nothing is more exciting than seeing a child's imagination and thirst for life open up right before your eyes.

Additionally, RAV is interested in a long term focus of developing volunteers that truly wish to have a positive impact on their community and the next generation. Here are some of your choices:

  • Volunteer to read aloud in schools and daycare centers

  • Help children meet and celebrate their personal reading and listening goals

  • Plan, participate and coordinate RAV school programs

  • Distribute books for RAV home libraries

  • Help with RAV school activities and celebrations

  • Coordinate and form partnerships

  • Sponsor book donation drives

  • Become an advocate for RAV

  • Use your writing skills with the RAV newsletter

  • Help coordinate and participate with our annual Santa Breakfast for inner city children

  • Help with RAV fundraising events

  • Become an active RAV board member
