Bayside Elementary School

Students and parents at Bayside Elementary have been participating in the Read Aloud Virginia program since last May.  Our goal is to have 100% student participation as soon as possible.  The families that have been reading together report a very positive experience.  Our students have had their illustrations shown on Channel 3 News and a brief summary of the book reported.

Students participating in the program have earned a certificate from Shoney’s for a free dessert, but more importantly, our students have enjoyed a book with a parent or significant adult.

Students earn points for the books read and we will be posting the points for each class for all to see.  We will chart the number of pages read as a school and challenge the students to continue to increase our number.
