After much discussion and research the current Board of Directors of Read Aloud Virginia has unanimously voted to dissolve Read Aloud Virginia due to concerns over sustainability. All fundraising activities (including the annual Santa Breakfast, Author Event, Golf Tournament, etc.) have been canceled due to the dissolution of Read Aloud Virginia. Read Aloud Virginia has managed the Children's Book Bank for the past few years and has concluded the RFP process to find a new operator and manager of the Children's Book Bank.

The Children's Museum of Richmond as the operating organization of the regional Children's Book Bank effective January 1st, 2012.
